High-Performance Pontiac V6 Builder Wanted?
I have a 1986 Pontiac Firebird with a V6-Auto.I want to either build the existing motor or exchange with another built up with turbo(single) and nitrous, both.it all should bolt right up with the existing factory motor mount placement and fittings.Does anybody know a good performance shop that does Pontiac turbos? They are hard to find on the net.The car is being built for Bonneville Speed Week 2008.Thanks Mark
I assume you’re talking about the incredibly underpowered 2.8 V6 that they put in the 80s firebirds. Don’t. The engine is not built for speed, no part of the engine can handle the power. You will blow the head or put a hole/crack in the block. Bad things will happen if you mod that engine. It was designed with a nice ride and good fuel economy in mind. Modding it will cause bad bad things to happen.
